It is the situation already described of the region the one that marks the possible accesses to it; few ones for the north, because the high altitude of the Central mountain chain has been always a wall that defends to the Valley of the Tiétar of the chill polar colds, but also it impedes the communication with the inhabitants of another part of the saw. For this reason the principal route of communication is the former regional highway Alcorcón-Plasencia that today takes different names in every autonomous community for the one that passes. It crosses the valley of East on West and allows to cross also La Vera that is the natural continuation of the Valley of the Tiétar. It is, therefore, the principal artery in the net of communications since it joins between the majority of the peoples of both regions and to her the visitor has to resort if it wants to do a tour in car for the region. Accesses C-501 (Madrid-Plasencia). The traveler goes out of Madrid for the N-V, now also E-90, and, at a height of Alcorcón, takes the highway that leads San Martín de Valdeiglesias. The first forty kilometres are a voyage for the wavy high plateaus of Madrid in search of the last spurs of Guadarrama; oaks and fields of cereals populate the contours.
