The people of Gavilanes settles himself in a great bench-cover orientated of East to West and enclosure of mountains with two impressive crags: Curandera and Aguzaderas (or of the Cruz). His municipal term goes from the heights of the tops mentioned to the plain that spreads in the banks of the river Tiétar. The places of his municipal term have been lived from the antiquity since they have found archaeological remains that come of the Paleolithic and of the neolithic one that Martino can contemplate in the collection in the Museum of Ávila. In the low part of the municipal term they find the remains of a church that corresponds to a former village, Las Torres, which depopulation is fixed at the beginning of the XVIIIth century.
