The locality settles
itself at the foot of a hill on which there was raised a castle that,
after the dominions of López Dávalos of don Alvaro de Luna he ended in
hands of don Beltrán de la Cueva from whom he happened to his children.
It has been reconstructed recently and is in use as center of historical
interpretation.
Her current church, of character "herreriano", and her construction
dates back of the XVIth century. It consists of a ship close to her
baroque altar, stand out others placed in the lateral chapels, for whose
construction they have taken advantage of the spaces that exist
between{*among*} the stirrups.
La Adrada has to San Blas cormó boss (February 3). With Santa Águeda -
the subversion of the order with women in the power and her{*it*}
"stains" - they initiate the carnival-like cycle. The
holidays{*parties*} in honor of the holder of the parish - el Salvador -
are celebrated on August 6; in September the religious rites are
organized concerning{*around*} the Virgen de la Yedra (the second Sunday
of September), whose{*which*} image guards in a hermitage of polygonal
apse and baroque dome.
In the last decades La Adrada has known a strong urban development
growth as consequence of the irruption of the tourism; the hamlet, in
the shape of urbanizations, is by the surroundings of the urban ancient
hull; the languid life of the people{*village*}, in the first half of
XXth century, has been transmuted into the own{*proper*} one of a
flourishing villa; her{*his;your*} population of right has
happened{*passed*} from 1.370 inhabitants a number superior to the
2.000, though triplica in summer. To receive so many inhabitants
numerous tourist industries have arisen and the Town hall has had to
solve numerous problems of urban infrastructure. The restoration of the
castle is the emblematic work in the beginnings of this XXIst century.
